Road trip...

So I'm going on a solo adventure this weekend to film Kevin Hanley (KHAN Games) up near Pensacola. It's one of the trips we've been putting off because he's "close" to us, and figured we could get it any time...but the time is nigh, and he's not all that *close* (7 hour drive!).
I have no idea if it will be anything worthwhile, but I'm going to actually document some behind the scenes stuff of the trip so you guys can get an idea of what these filming adventures to meet homebrews, post market developers, and others have looked like.
I'm going to just have my camera at the ready and take you guys along on the road trip with me, try and wax poetic about cool things along the way, and toss it together quick for an update here. Now...I'm not going to kill myself doing it, as I have the actual documentary and the game to be working on, so expect something a bit raw and unpolished, of course, but I like the idea of taking you guys along for the proverbial ride. It'll be a small, microcosmic look at the tens of thousands of collective miles this documentary has taken us.
Be looking for this next week :-)

Greetings all - after a few concerned backers have brought it to our attention, we are gauging the reach of our Kickstarter updates. We've noticed that very few people *seem* to view our updates, and so we have done most of our updates via social media and reserved the Kickstarter update section for larger news.
Since it's impossible to tell how many people view these updates, only how many have liked or commented, if you're seeing this and would like more frequent future updates in this manner in addition to FB, please like or comment below! We'll of course be updating the project with big news here either way, but if this is a more reliable method of keeping everyone informed in general, we want to know!
Thank you to the backers who brought this to our attention.
More updates coming soon - and for anyone who still does not have the link to the facebook site... www.Facebook.com/TheNew8bitHeroes will get you there :-)
Happy Holidays, and a few treats

I wanted to share an update with everyone as to the progress of the project just in time for the holidays. Though it's still just an early glimpse of the mechanics demo, I wanted to give a look of our engine working on a cartridge, on an actual NES.
Things are going well. The documentary is winding down; at 6TB of footage captured, I'd estimate we're about 90% shot. It's just a matter of whittling it all down to *the* story. It's there, it'll just take some creative reduction to get to it.
The tutorial series are coming along. I will be offering the first sort of 'primer' set for free through Squareknot.com (one is up there already).
So things are good, though slow. They are calculated and purposeful. We can't wait to show you more, but we also don't want to completely spoil the experience. :-)
Let me ask you all this - what is the best way to get you updates for this project? Is this KS updating the best? Are our FB updates bette? Should we start slamming Twitter? Would an email list be better? What do you think? We feel like we've been pretty good at providing regular glimpses into progress on our FB, but some folks say they haven't seen them, and we want to make sure you all know we're working very hard.
Here is a video update, mostly summarizing what I just said with an early glimpse at the mechanics of the game working on an actual NES, and below a few concept->in game sprite comparisons.
